Hello Guys,

The Short Script competition just came to an end and we were delighted to receive over 350 scripts from young and talented script writers. Out of this number of scripts, the 30 best scripts were chosen and invited for a 3-day Script Writing workshop.

The workshop held on the 6th – 9th of September at the School for Media and Communications, Pan-Atlantic University in Lagos and some of Nollywoods  finest Producers, Filmmakers and Screen Writers including Mildred Okwo, Sam-Uche Anyemele, Ramsey Nouah, Ehizojie Ojesebholo, Ifesinachi Okoli-Okpagu and Chris Odeh.

The event was nothing short of AH-MAZING as the facilitators shared their knowledge and experiences on script writing and film making.

Sam-Uche Anyamele trained the students on the basics of film making with guidelines and points to consider when making a film.

Next was a presentation by the talented Ifesinachi Okoli on The Art of Storytelling, Character Development and Screenplay. She explained to the students on how to reveal a character when writing a script.

Ramsey Nouah tutored on how to shoot in Nigeria and stay relevant. He shared his experience as an actor and how he has managed to remain relevant in Nollywood’s competitive industry.

The participants were treated to a surprise session by award wining Producer/Director, Mildred Okwo. The participants were elated to see her and she gave them tips and tricks on how to make films and be successful in the industry.

The talented Ehizojie Ojisebholo’s topic was on Storytelling and technological advancement and explained the rudiments on how to adapt to technology trends in film making.

The students also had a practical session with Ehizojie where he showed them how to produce and direct a film and they had a chance to practice themselves.

Mr Chris Odeh had a session on writing for a target market through the producers perspective. He also gave the participants a lecture on how to manage and make money from the film industry and shared his experience with them.

The 3- Day event ended with presentation of certificates by Mr Isaac of Pan-Atlantic University. It was a great event and participants learnt the art of script writing and film making from the sessions.

The event was LIT! and we received great feedback from our participants.

We appreciate our facilitators for the great sessions and our host Pan-Atlantic University for their top-notch service during the workshop.
