Spotlight on the AMVCAs – Nominees for Best Actor in a Comedy

The voting lines are closed and one of the most anticipated events of the year in Nollywood, the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCAs) is coming up this Saturday and a host of talented actors have been nominated. Today we will be looking at the nominees for Best Actor in a Comedy. Just looking at the face of Kunle Idowu aka Frank Donga, makes one reel with laughter, Kelechi Udegbe is also one to look out for, loved him from Ndani TV’s ‘Officer Titus‘ and i recently watched the trailer of Fundi-mentals, featuring Kenyan nominee, Gerald Langiri and it looked like a good watch.

Wale Ojo‘s character as a typical mid-class yoruba man living in the UK is hilarious and his performance is outstanding. Femi Jacob‘s character in ‘The Meeting‘ was my best as well. The expressions on his face whenever he was with Clara were always like “Obinrin oo ni pa mi” It’s been a while i watched a movie that featured Nonso Diobi but i enjoy his acting as well.

Now to my question … Who do you think will win???? 🙂 I have my answer but i want to know yours!

Let’s get talking people! Watch the AMVCA trailer for ‘Best Actor in a Comedy’ leave your comments below!!!

Ask a Nigerian the full meaning of NTA and they would immediately say National Television Authority. (Some might even say National Telecommunications Association).

Did you know…

…NTA (Nigerian Television Authority) was formerly called NTV (National Television)

…NTA also stand for national National Telefilm Associates founded in 1954, defunct since 1985 (Who borrowed who’s name? 😉 )

…NTA also stands for National Television Awards, a yearly British TV award ceremony initiated in 1995
