Hey guys, we are back with our #WCW
So on this edition of #wcw we have a big crush on the award winning filmmaker, director, producer, mentor and actress Remmy Njoku. she made her acting debut in the 2004 Nollywood movie ‘Home Sickness’, which she featured alongside with Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha. She came to limelight after featuring in popular Nollywood blockbuster ‘Blackberry Babes’ in 2011. Between 2011 and 2013, she and her husband Mr Jason Njoku produced iROKtv, a YouTube platform that features interviews with Nigerian celebrities, as well as coverage of Afrobeats and Nollywood events. In 2015, she became Chief Content Officer at IROKO Partners. By March, she held her first world premier for her film Thy Will Be Done at the BFI IMAX London, the first ever Nollywood film premiere in IMAX.
Remmy is a strong woman who has accomplished a lot in Nollywood both on the national scene and international scene and has paved the way for young women in Nollywood. Her story is an example that you can do anything you want to if you put your mind to it.
And that’s why she is our Woman Crush!
So it’s that time of the year again when we celebrate our annual Safer Internet Day (SID) and we are so grateful that we have been a part of this great cause. As you may know SID was birthed in Europe in 2004 and has since spread rapidly to over hundred countries across the world.
SID is aimed at promoting the safe and responsible use of the internet especially among young internet users.
We have successfully celebrated SID for three consecutive years now and last year we expanded our reach to the 36 states in Nigeria.
The campaign slogan for this year “Together For A Better Internet” is a call to action for all stakeholders to join together and play their part in creating a better internet for everyone, and especially for younger users.
This year, in addition to celebrating across the 36 states including FCT Abuja, we will also launch the webrangers online safety Application which is published on Android, IOS and Microsoft stores.
We will also have policy makers in the Education and Communication sector in the room who will be discussing in a panel session the importance of online safety in Nigerian schools.
We can assure you that the day will filled with fun and educational activities so make sure you check back to find out how it all went.

Happy New Year Guys,
We hope Y’all enjoyed the holidays!
We were looking through 2019 movie trailers and came across “4th republic the movie” which is Produced by Bem Pever, written by Zainab Omaki, Emil B. Garuba and directed by our very own Ishaya Bako who was the winner of our 2017 documentary category for his documentary Silent Tears.
4th Republic highlights the challenges a strong woman (Mabel), played by Kate Henshaw faces as she seeks to attain a seat of Government in Nigeria to foster justice and democracy and basically change the political scene in Nigeria positively, The movie also shows how difficult it is for women to hold high offices in government.
We did some research and found that about 50% of the population in Nigeria is female yet only about 6% of Federal legislative positions are occupied by women and more interesting is the fact that in the history of Nigeria no Female has ever held a Gubernatorial position.
The movie is star studded with the likes of Kate Henshaw, Linda Ejiofor, Bimbo Manuel and many more. 4th republic would soon grace our screens and it’s definitely one you should watch out for!!! We would keep you posted on the release date. See trailer here
