Hey guys,

Homevida in partnership with the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) with support from Google is proud to present the Safer Internet Day (SID) 2017.

SID is a globally held event celebrated across the world on the second day of the second week of the second month of each year to promote safer and more responsible use of the internet especially among children and young people.

Birthed in Europe, Safer Internet Day has grown rapidly spreading to over hundred countries across the world involving thousands of people promoting the safe use of the internet.

This will be the 3rd consecutive year Homevida will be celebrating the Safer Internet Day. Last year the event held in Lagos at  Queen’s College and over 1000 students were trained. The Students were given sound advice from dignitaries and keynote  speakers on how to be safe online.

The theme for this year is: BE THE CHANGE: UNITE FOR A BETTER INTERNET and the event is set to hold on Tuesday, 7th of February, 2017. This year’s event is targeted at training over 200 students from 10 different schools to ensure that the advocacy for a Safer Internet is widespread.

Owing to the increasing relevance of the internet to everyone especially the children and youth who use the internet for various activities including school work, online gaming and social networking it is indeed important that they know that a safe environment is created for internet users.

The day promises to be entertaining and packed full with various fun activities including Balloon Challenge, Quiz, Debates and lots more.
