This year, the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF), has selected a number of Nollywood movies to be screened at the Festival, taking place in Los Angeles. The PAFF is the largest film festival in the USA dedicated to the exhibition of black films. Each year, PAFF exhibits more than 150 films made in the USA, Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, the South Pacific, Latin America and Canada. In 2014 some forty thousand plus people from both the film industry and the public attended the PAFF. This year’s event is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles’ all-digital Rave Cinemas 15 Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza from February 5 to February 16.
Kunle Afolayan’s October 1, Lydia Forson’s A Letter from Adam, Nadia Buari’s The Diary of Imogen Brown, Shirley Frimpong’s Devil in the Detail and Destiny Ekaragha’s critically acclaimed comedy Gone Too Far which was released to the Nigerian Cinemas on the 16th of January, and stars Nollywood actor OC Ukeje, are some of the movies that will be screened at this year’s festival. Going by the PAFF standard, this simply means that these movies have world standard productions. Kudos!!!
