2 days to the Homevida awards!!!!


The Nigeria Integrity Film Awards (Homevida) + The Centenary Project Launch is set to hold in Abuja, Nigeria on Friday 5th December 2014 at the Silverbird Entertainment Centre. This year’s event will be a first of its kind as Homevida will be partnering with the Pan-Atlantic University School of Media and Communications to showcase movies with integrity values and re-establish our cultural and political diversity. The host of the show will be Popular Comedian Bovi with performances by alternative soul singer Bez Idakula.

The Nigeria Integrity Film Award (Homevida) is an annual award platform driving creative messaging on integrity and value change through FILM. The best in Nollywood entertainment are rewarded for transparency, quality and integrity in films and film making. The platform provides incentives for talented Nigerian filmmakers to mainstream integrity in their films and is designed as a partnership between non-profit, public and private organizations to promote core national and corporate values towards nation building.
The Centenary Project being launched on the same night by the Pan Atlantic University School of Media and Communication is an archive hub that will be showcasing various aspects of Nigeria’s cultural and political history aimed at providing Nigerians with positive and compelling views that would help to generate a shared vision of what the country can achieve.
This year, the categories and nominated winners of the Homevida awards are:
1. Investors Protection Category endowed by Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) – the winner is Brenda Ogbuka with script titled: MONEY MAKEOVER
2. Recognition of the best Anti-Trafficking in Persons scripts endowed by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and funded by the European Union (EU). There are 3 winners in this category
a) Tunde Apalowo with the script titled Lost Children
b) Onyinye Muomah with the script titled Kelechi
c) Brenda Ogbuka with the script titled Homecoming

Homevida is also giving out 1 Million Naira each in 2 different feature film award categories:
1. Family Friendly Prize endowed by the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB)

The movies shortlisted for this category are Knocking on Heavens Door and Purple Rose

2. Human Development Values Prize endowed by the United Nations Millennium Campaign

The movies shortlisted in this category are Apaye and Dazzling Mirage
