Africa Movie Academy Awards 2014: AMAA

On Saturday, 24th of May 2014, the 10th anniversary of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) held at Yenogoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. It was a night of glory for our actors and film makers as talent was being rewarded. The founder and CEO of the awards, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, paid tribute to the late film maker, Amaka Igwe, who was a member of the AMAA jury till her death. Movies like “Of good report” took the lead in nominations with 13 nominations on its tail, followed by movies like “The forgotten kingdom” and “Potomanto“.

It was indeed a night of celebration and entertainment as the best in the movie sector were honored with awards while stars like Timi Dakolo, Bez, J Martins, Edge, Ketshe and comedians Buchi, Funny Bone performed. Asides celebrities, also in attendance were top government functionaries.
